The Trudell Family of Companies
As Trudell Medical Group marks 100 years since its humble beginnings in 1922, we are proud to reflect on the milestones and the employees who built and will continue to contribute to its success. This long history bodes well for a bright future in the healthcare markets served.
The focus of the companies that make up the group today is on respiratory care and select functions in hospital operating rooms. Our vision is to provide patients throughout the world with medical devices and services that make their lives better. We manufacture and globally market some of the leading brands in respiratory care, including the AeroChamber® brand of spacers, the Aerobika® Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure (OPEP) devices and the AeroEclipse® brand of nebulizers.
Innovation is the key to the future of the companies, which all have extensive product development capabilities, including a world-class aerosol research laboratory. We strive to create an environment where employees can thrive and grow as part of diverse teams.
Over the years, Trudell has grown to a family of operating companies that are overseen and supported by Trudell Medical Limited, our corporate entity. It is anchored in London, Canada, where the original company was founded.
Trudell Medical International (TMI) is also based in London, with regional sales offices in the U.K., Spain, Portugal, Egypt and the Netherlands. TMI designs, manufactures, markets and distributes respiratory disease and lung health medical devices to patients and customers in more than 100 countries.
Monaghan Medical Corporation is located in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and has a sales office in Kanas City, Mo. It serves the same functions as TMI but to customers throughout the United States.
ProResp Inc. is headquartered in London, with branch locations across Ontario. Its healthcare professionals and technicians deliver oxygen and in-home respiratory care to patients throughout the province.
Trudell Healthcare Solutions (THS) is also centred in London, with a regional warehouse in Montreal and offices throughout Canada. It sources respiratory, critical care and operating room medical products for distribution to hospitals across the country.
Northgate Technologies Inc. (NTI), located in Elgin, Ill., designs, manufactures, markets and globally distributes a line of minimally invasive, software-controlled medical devices and specialty urology and fluid management products for use in surgical environments.
As part of Trudell’s strategy to grow and its commitment to innovation, the company has acquired and made investments in companies with emerging technologies in healthcare. In early 2021, Trudell acquired Aetonix Systems Inc, a provider of virtual care, which enables a virtual personal touch connecting the patient, the family and the care team. Aetonix provides a platform for Trudell to grow its connected vitual-care platform and ProResp is currently integrating Aetonix into its strategy.
Trudell has also acquired a controlling interest in HealthUp S.A., a company located in Poland that has developed a digital spirometer, AioCare. The product has a leading-edge design and functionality and both Monaghan and Trudell Healthcare Solutions are interested in distributing the product in their respective markets.
Trudell has also acquired a minority interest in Adherium Limited, an Australian public company. Adherium is focused on patient adherence, remote monitoring and data management solutions for patients, physicians, payers and providers. Adherium’s Hailie® sensor technology and cloud-based data platform enables physicians and payers to optimally manage patients with difficult-to-treat and severe asthma and COPD, and to reduce direct and indirect healthcare costs.
At the Trudell Medical Group of Companies, core values inspire our actions. It is an honour to give readers a glimpse into who we are and who we serve.
